Experience

Over a period of more than 30 years, John has handled all types of business dispute resolution, representing plaintiffs and defendants, individuals and corporations of all sizes in trials and appeals in state and federal courts in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, as well as arbitrations. He has tried more than 50 court cases to judgment, approximately half of which have been jury trials.

John began his career in business dispute resolution in 1977 as an associate at the firm of Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro in San Francisco. In 1978, he moved to Rhode Island and joined the firm of Edwards & Angell, becoming a partner in 1985. Thereafter, John joined Flanders + Medeiros, a commercial litigation firm founded two years earlier by former litigation partners of Edwards & Angell. He joined LMKBW in October 2000.
